Carrollton - Transit-Oriented Development Catalyst
The Carrollton TOD Catalyst Infrastructure Project is a catalyst project that enhances the connection between Downtown Carrollton, the Union Station mixed-use development, and the Carrollton Downtown Rail Station. Improvements include street construction to extend Vandergriff Drive between Broadway and Myers Street, and pedestrian amenities and landscaping to enhance the entrance to the downtown square. The project also includes a hike and bike trail along the Union Pacific rail line. The Carrollton mixed-use development includes 179 residential units, 4,500 sq. ft. of retail and restaurant space, and 5,500 sq. ft. of flex space.
The infrastructure project was funded through the 2009-2010 Sustainable Development Call for Projects. NCTCOG awarded $1,545,433 with a local match of $386,358 from the City of Carrollton for street construction, pedestrian amenities, and landscaping.
